Cemetary/Grounds Keeper

The Cemetery Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance and upkeep of the cemetery grounds. The groundskeeper works under the direction of the Public Works Supt.  

Duties Include:

• Landscaping and Maintenance: Mowing, trimming, and edging all the sections; planting and caring for grass, flowers, shrubs, and trees; and ensuring overall appeal
• Grave Maintenance: Cleaning and trimming around graves
• General Cleanliness: PIcking up debris, removing weeds, and maintianing pathways to ensure safety and accessibility
• Irrigation System: Assist Public Works with maintenacne and repair of the irrigation system
• Equipment Operation: Assist Public Works with operating and maintaining groundskeeper equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and other machinery
• Seasonal Holiday Tasks: Preparing the grounds for different seasons and holidays. Placement of flags and crosses on Memorial Day and Veterans day if weather permits
• Customer Interaction: Assisting visitors and inquires and providing information about cemetery services and grounds.
