Public Works Superintendent

 The Public Works Superintendent is responsible for overseeing planning development, and maintenance of public infastructure and services. This role involves project management and ensuring comliance with local, state, and federal regulations. 
  •  Oversees daily operations of water and sewer systems, including treatment, distribution, and collection.
  •  Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations (DOH, Ecology, EPA, OSHA)
  •  Coordinates infastructure maintenace repairs, and capital projects
  •  Responds to emergencies, service interruptions, and customer concerns
  •  Maintains required records, reports, and operating logs
  •  Represents the Town in meetings with regulatory agencies, consultants, and council
  •  Assist with long-range planning and asset management
  •  Performs routine maintenance and  upkeep of Town parks, right-of-way, and public spaces, including weed control, landscaping   and general grounds maintenance to ensure safe, clean, and attractive community areas.
  •  Performs routine maintenance of Town streets, alleys, sidewalks, right-of-way, including snow and ice control,  street lights, and   signage to ensure safe and efficient transportation 
  •  Performs automated water meter reading and maintenance of equipment
  •  Assist with cemetery groundskeeping to include irrigation, weed control, record keeping and grave maintenance (open/closing)
  •  Assist in code enforcement. Works with other departments (zoning, planning, building) to ensure cohesive enforcement of   regulations
  •  Maintains fire hydrants, tests bi-annually to comply with the standard ratings testing

Carries out additional public works tasks as directed by the Mayor, consistant with job duties and qualifications.
